Our book distribution efforts are driven by our strong belief in the spread of knowledge and resources through collective action in our local communities.

It is through these efforts that we strive to achieve our mission: to strengthen collective knowledge and break down the borders of academia in the city of Detroit.

Building towards self-sufficient education through the city’s legacy of leading revolutionaries and artists is vital to the struggle against the systems which only continue to oppress Detroit’s underserved communities.

Every contribution means something and helps Nox Library meet its goals.

In the summer of 2020 we began our literature distribution efforts in Detroit. We are continuing those efforts this fall/winter with new modes of distribution, one of which includes a “nox box” little library located in Detroit which we will supply weekly. Another is to team up with local organizations like we have throughout the summer. We look forward to building solidarity in our community, strengthening our collective knowledge, and breaking down borders of academia. Visit our Instagram, @noxlibrary, to keep up to date.

In our efforts, we strive to provide full transparency. Please take a look at our Funds + Purchases spreadsheet to better understand how our funds are allocated.

Literature Distribution Goals

Every month, Nox Library organizers within the literature distribution committee create two goals. For the first goal we choose a literary focus for the month so that we distribute literature that is relevant to our communities needs. The second goal is created to help assist our inventory needs. The second goal can take many forms such as a book drive, Patreon boost, one-time donation goal, book swap, etc. This goal is created to help us fulfill the inventory of books we have, for events where we distribute free literature and all of the literature requests we receive from other organizations and organizers.
